The "Alchemies" are inspired by an old arabic chess riddle called "The Knight's Tour", where the knight must visit every field of an empty chess board once. In this case the knight also finishes its tour where he started. To solve the riddle I used lines and numbers which explains the pattern.
To me, they symbolize striving or simply the course of life.
They all are oil on canvas, 160x160 cm (except "Alchemie No. 1", last on the right, in which initially a text in the last row was planned and therefore an extra 10 cm was added).
